"Why are we here?" Every church should ask themselves that question and have a purpose statement that can answer it. At HighPointe Church, every idea, program, and dollar we spend gets filtered through that question; our purpose statement. If what we plan doesn't help fulfill our purpose, then we don't do it. So what is our purpose at HighPointe Church? Our purpose can be summed up in one single sentence:
"To lead people to become fully devoted followers of Christ."
This purpose is based on two teachings of Jesus:
Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart...soul and....mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." (Matthew 22:36-40)
He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe..." Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it." (Mark 16:15-20)
Most of the world has been made to feel helpless and hopeless...we're here to let the world know that Jesus can restore that hope and provide the help they need.
This video gives a little insight as to what message we believe the world needs to hear...BUT YOU MUST WATCH TO THE END!
